Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge & Great Salt Plains State Park
BioBlitz! 2008 base camp will be located at the Community Center at the Great Salt Plains State Park. See links to the right for maps.
A group campsite at the state park will be reserved for BioBlitz! 2008 participants for both Friday and Saturday nights. Please check in at the registration table when arriving at BioBlitz to pick up your registration packet, ticket for the cookout, t–shirt, and any announcements regarding the schedule of events.
Tentative Schedule
Friday 12th
Registration table open 2:00–6:00 p.m.
Inventory begins 3:00 p.m.
Cookout 6:30–8:00 p.m.
Saturday 13th
Registration table open 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Educational and hands–on events throughout the day
– Including, but not limited to, bird walks, plant identification, reptile and amphibian demonstration, fish seining, insect collecting and identification
(detailed schedule will be announced closer to the event date)
Inventory ends 3:00 p.m.
Inventory tally announced 3:15 p.m.
Celebration of BioBlitz! 2008 and announcement of BioBlitz! 2009 location 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Volunteer Clean Up 4:30–5:30 p.m.
