My research interests inlcude geographic variation, systematics, evolution, conservation biology, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

As Computer Guru for the Survey, my duties include:

  • Supervisor of Survey's LAN and computing systems
  • Hardware and Software support for Survey PC's, Macs and Workstations
  • Some hardware and software support for other departments, especially Zoology, Biological Station, and Botany-Microbiology
  • Maintenance of extensive Survey files and databases on University mainframe
  • Consulting in multivariate statistics, systematics, and database management
  • Maintenance of Survey World Wide Web site
  • Chair of the Survey's web committee
  • Support for GIS in the Survey and related departments
  • I attend meetings of the Oklahoma State Webmanagers Group sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and of the Oklahoma State GIS Council.

  • I am active in Staff governance at the University. I was Chair of Staff Senate in 2001-2002 and am currently Staff Week Committee Chair and a Council member of the Informational Staff Association. I have served two terms as President of the Professional Staff Association. I have served as Staff Senate representative for the Computing Advisory Committee and Information Technology Council. I also served as Staff Senate representative on the Senior Vice-President/Provost search committee. I have chaired a grievance committee.

    I am an official University contact for ESRI products and am a member of the OU High Performance Computing Group.

    I am active in the Systematics Luncheon Group (SLUG) at the University.

    I serve as ad hoc Web-Site committee chair and webmaster for the Southwesern Association of Naturalists and am a Board Member and webmaster for Oklahomans for Excellence in Science Education.
