Additional details of this internship:   This internship falls within the outreach objective of the Oklahoma Biological Survey. The goal of this outreach program is to provide hands-on learning experiences for elementary students, using programs that revolve around a group of organisms (crayfish, freshwater mussels) or a particular topic (mechanisms of seed dispersal). The developed presentations may be used in an undergraduate-run extension program. The intern will help research topics and put together programs, including researching the subject, assembling the needed materials and documenting the presentation. Interns will also trial and refine presentations by testing them in elementary school classrooms, and may also help with the regular outreach program.
